107.7 the end is apparently suffering from an identity crisis. phil manning decided to change the entire format from "new rock first" to "seattle's original alternative", dropping the website, programs, djs, and most of all the music. a current playlist would now be something like nirvana, followed by the cure, soundgarden, and the strokes. but they did promise more local music -but who wants to hear death cab back to back with pearl jam.

so why the sudden change? why play the "original alternative since 1991" card?

the station once known as 96.5 The Point, best of the eighties, is now known as K-ROCK (KRQI) seattle's alternative rock - and this competition no doubt scared manning. ohh and it gets better - K-ROCK's morning show will soon be run by Andy Savage, and former end dj Bill Reed will also join K-ROCK staff.

i just thought i'd share that, i dont know why it amused me so much.
